Black power or pride Tattoos?
I’m a student out of school for the summer and lately have been watching specials on tattos. I’ve seen many White power tattoos, from wood peckers to the two bolts, but that’s it. I was watching Marked on the history channel and was wondering are there any black racist tattoos and not just black panter stuff ether. Like how the viking stuff is White power symbols. Are any ones like that for black people?
Any help in this would be great, because I’ve been watching tattoo shows all summer and since i’m in high school i go back in a week and will not have the time to find alot on my own.
Well if anything the most popular ones would be a black panther of course sometimes it’s usually out line instead and the other one is a fist directing upwards. Anything that present a fist shooting upwards toward the sky.
Other than that black power is a pride. I’m not sure about racist neither but I’m pretty sure it’s I’m pride to be black no matter where I am and who I’m with. But it’s a group of course no doubt about it.

Great Musicians Seeking Effective Musician’s Websites (Part 2 of 2)

Having and effective website is of key importance to any musician who is planning to break into the indie or mainstream of his or her art by heavily relying on Social Media. When RiaEnjolie, Inc. creates a musician’s website it does so realizing just how important it is for music fans and business agents to land on a professional looking and easy navigatable website, where they can immediately ne “wooed” and find what they are looking for. Why use Social Media to drive traffic to a site that will not capture the audience’s interest and result in a booking or sale of music?
Singer-Songwriter Cassidy Haley posts all relevant news about himself directly to Facebook. And like clockwork, after every tweet, a large number of his fans begin to re-tweet his updates and interact with each other, further enabling the artist to broaden his fan base, share news with the public in real-time and foster a sense of community. He also offers his fans a link back to his official website, where even more information on his music and upcoming appearances are located. Cassidy clearly understands the connection between Social Media and Website presence and leverages it to his career advantage.
Another of the more significant examples of his keen ability to use social media was exemplified in the creation of his street team, Cassidy Haley’s Army, and his day-to-day all-volunteer team, which includes a manager, producer, graphic designer, web designer and more. Not too long after releasing his first EP, Cassidy noticed a trend online of fans wanting to pitch in and help further his career. He soon solicited applications and shortly thereafter had a team of committed and skilled volunteers from coast-to-coast. This was all done over the Internet and via social media channels. Cassidy Haley’s Army is described on his website where he offers his many fans the opportunity to volunteer for active duty.
And, still another facet of Cassidy’s career has been in his implementation of social media broadcast elements, such as Ustream, an online streaming video chat that Cassidy uses frequently to chat with fans and sometimes perform. It’s not rare to eavesdrop on a fan discussing tattooing Cassidy’s song lyrics to a limb of their body, telling him how much he has meant to them, requesting he play a specific original song or cover, or even sometimes getting emotional when he replies to them directly. Last year, Cassidy also launched his own web-based reality series, “6 Months to Become a Superstar,” in which he chronicles the day-to-day workings of his career on his weekly show, which he uploads to video sites like YouTube. Cassidy also launched his own monthly publication, The Catalyst, which he produces with the help of his team and sells through his official website. In addition to The Catalyst, Cassidy also has a merchandise designer, and sells everything including Cassidy Haley jewelry, clothing, accessories, music, posters and even his own artwork.
But social media websites aren’t solely used by Cassidy to gain exposure. In fact, he most recently used Kickstarter, a new social media fundraising website, to raise over $5,500 to fund his newest album, The Fool, in just weeks. By using Kickstarter, Cassidy was able to offer fans and other supporters of his such benefits as autographed merchandise, personal phone calls and even the chance to have the artist write a special song for them, simply for donating money.
The campaign proved successful, as Cassidy almost doubled his original $3,000 goal. His first full-length album, “The Fool,” was released shortly afterwards in July, and features several guest musicians, including former Doobie Brothers drummer Chet McCracken; Larry John McNally, who has worked with The Eagles and Bonnie Raitt; and was produced by Anita Hyde and engineered by Matt Forger, the engineer of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” “The Fool” weaves together classic and glam rock sounds with electronic undertones, and tells the story of Cassidy’s journey, where he has been and who he has become after staring down struggles and triumphing over pain and inner childhood demons.
With the release of these two successful albums, Haley has made his own mark among a new breed of “indie” (independent) music artists that march to their own set of drums while insisting that they remain in complete control of their own music and business destinies. In fact, last year Haley created his own record label – Sunshine Rebel Records – and sells much of his music through iTunes and Amazon.com. Cassidy Haley is truly happy with the way his career has been going. He summarizes his decision to remain an independent artist best when he says, “I don’t want to be developed. I have a really clear idea of what I want to do and how I want to sound and how I want to look.” He’ll also admit that while it’s pretty tough going up against the major record labels that do still exist, he is committed to his beliefs and is up for the challenge. After all he has a few powerful friends on his side – some great talent and the extended reach of social media.
Handling his own star has not exactly limited Cassidy Haley in any way. His mainstream popularity is currently on the rise after making several mainstream media appearances, including an exclusive Yahoo! Music session, a broadcast interview for NBC-LA, and various magazine cover interviews and radio appearances. And, Social Media continues to help propel him farther along in popularity. Haley continues to posts his music videos on YouTube and regularly holds online concerts for his fans. A similar strategy has also worked well for teen singing sensation Justin Bieber, who was discovered on YouTube by his current business agent.
Social Media is certainly a force to be reckoned with in today’s music industry and it’s only going to get stronger as many more talented musicians and performers get discovered on sites like Facebook and YouTube. For the very first time in the history of the music business, recording artists no longer have to stalk business agents around big cities and beg them to listen to their demo tapes, such as Madonna did in 1982 when she urged Sire Records founder Seymour Stein to listen to her demo tape of “Everybody,” while laying on his hospital bed. Now, artists simply have to e-mail a few promoters a URL to hear their music and feel the crowd’s reaction to their performances. Of course, with the virtual audition part out of the way there is still the need for an impressive website presence to place the exclamation point at the end of the whole package….

Are people with 666 tattoos considered evil?
I know its reffered to as the mark of the beast. But can someone explain more in depth what it means? Is their history outside of what the bible says? How did it come to be that particular number for it?
Oh I ask because I was watching marked (show on history channel) and a lot of bikers (part of gangs) had those numbers marked on them.
