wrist tattoo healing time?
I’ve got my wrist tattoo for 6 days but it seems to be not healing at all!!! I keep it clean, use vaselin at least 3 times/day but it isn’t dry and heal! It was itchy in 3 days but now it’s fine. Not red or some kinds of injection. What can I do now? Is it ok?
This is my second tattoo. The first one is on the nape of my neck, just took 4 days to heal, so I really worry at this time. Please help me! Thanks a lot!
My wrist tattoo took 3 weeks to heal completely. Its a highly mobile area and may take a while on you. Be patient, it will heal.

The Pain of Tattooing and Dealing With It
When I reached the age of 18, I began to admire people with tattoos and how nice it would be to have one myself. Three years have passed before I have really experience having one. It is definitely hard for one to decide whether to get one or not, but what was really that thing or the reason why some people hold back?
As for me, I was then holding back because I was afraid of the pain it would cause. I thought that after having a tongue ring at the age of 18, I can definitely deal with any kind of pain, including the pain of tattoo; however, I kept worrying about it that was why it took me that long.
Before I went ahead on the tattoo procedure, I have asked some of the people I know and some experts whether there were any ways from which the pain of tattoo procedure could be lessened. There were people who said that the level of pain vary from person to person. There are people whose pain tolerance is very high that they can have any part of their body pierced. While there are some who have low pain tolerance that they cannot even handle a plain ear piercing.
This tolerance of pain also applies to tattoos. The pain that you can experience while tattooing is because of the fact that several small needles will pierce through your skin. The part of the body where you will place the tattoo also plays a vital role, also the colors that the tattoo requires. Your expectation will also affect the process. If you are frightened and expecting the worst then that is what you will probably get.
The area where you will place the tattoo also is a big factor, some of the painful places are on the wrist, back and places where bones are usually more exposed. You may choose to have a white and black tattoo so that you can withstand the procedure, the procedure will usually be shorter and simpler if you use such colors.
If you will ask me, based on my personal experience, the tattoo procedure hurt me a bit. During the procedure I was really psyching myself out and felt that I was about to lose my consciousness before the procedure started. To be on the safe side, I just picked a simple and small design so that the process will be fast; I decided to place it on my wrist. I knew then, that this area will hurt a lot, but for me, it was the perfect place because I can easily show it off to my family and friends. It hurt quite a bit, however, the pain immediately lessens in an hour and it healed really fast.
Just think about this, you will feel pain for a few minutes or depending on how large is the tattoo, but it will surely be an enjoyment you will feel for years.

4 day old tattoo was healing well but now has wrinkles? Help?
I woke up yesterday morning and my inner wrist tattoo is “pruney” like when you leave your fingers in water too long. I discontinued all aftercare for the day. This morning the wrinkles are still there. I’m REALLY worried, to the point of tears. This particular tattoo has extreme importance to me. Please help, my artist/shop are away at a convention. I was following normal aftercare. Uncovered after a couple of hours, washed gently, moisturized with nonscented lotion. My previous tattoos healed fine.
dont worry about it. its just part of the healing process. i have 8 tattoos, and at one point or another, theyve all oozed, been really moist, or wrinkled/scabbed up. they all came out fine.
it sounds to me like its just starting to scab over. so follow your artist’s instructions and dont pick at it
